A small bird wings its way through a tiny opening between two rocks in the rapidly deteriorating portal. Hopefully, Monkey or one of the magic types will have the wherewithal to send the pigeon back to the Sometimes Saloon.

Tied on its leg, the bird carries a little scroll on which is written:

North by northwest is not the East;
And the One who sends all is not the least.
The dial that marks is cold and hard,
But knows the spot---within 100 yards.
