    My mythical play...

Remember I came around here for the first time and already posted a plan, namely to write a mythical play, together with people who may want to act weird for a time? *s* Well, now that my protégée Scribe Tanaquil has found some rest, I can come here and play!*s*

The idea, which only came up to me the very moment that Lotus was writing the invitation to come here and discuss, is about the following:

I would like to gather a few people and create a "new" Greek myth here in the form of a sort of play (not exactly a roleplay, but several people can help constructing the plot and act the roles of the various dramatis personae in the play).

The absic story is the following:

Young Achilleus, a prince and son of King Peleus of Phtia in Central Greece (Thessaly) has turned 16 and gets a beautiful bow for his birthday which he immediately tries out in a hunting party. On that hunting party, he non-deliberately shoots a deer with silver horns, which is dedicated to Artemis. Almost the same time, King Agamemnon does about the same at a hunting party on the Peloponnese, near his city Mycenae. Artemis gets very angry about this, because she is a very nature loving and macro-biotic goddess, although it was she herself who gave man the ability to hunt. Sometimes, the gods are as whimsical as human beings, *s* That figures, because in their anthropomorph form they have been created by man! *s*
Anyway, in the evening, several gods, who have been invited by Achilles' mother, the sea goddess Thetis, appear with nice presents for the young brat (which figures, because Achilles is played in a RL done movie, coming out this month, called TROY, by Brad Pitt, *s*) and the deer has been brought into the megaron as a trophy. When Artemis sees the dead animal, she gets furious (the second one that week!*s*) and she wants to have a go at killing the (nearly) undefeatable Achilles! At this point, she is held back by Athena, who always is best at saving a party's good atmosphere and keeps Artemis from getting near Achilles by holding him in her arms and thus creating a strong magnetic field around him (one of the divine gadgets!*s*). Artemis smashes her gift for the boy (a vase, of course) against the wall and leaves, angry and out for revenge. Thetis is terrified, because she knows her son is not all that undefeatable! The healing gods, like Apollo, Artemis, Asklepios and Athena, know of the heel held by Thetis when she dipped baby Achilles into the river Styx...So now she starts lobbying the present gods to help her defend her son when his case will come before the Divine Council, presided by Zeus himself. All kinds of rascals are discussed there for their behavior: Agamemenon, Odysseus, Achilles....Some can get away with their bad exploits, others will have to pay. It's up to Zeus' final decision. Sometimes, Hermes, who keeps the minutes of all Divine Council meetings, can fuddle around with phrases a bit, but mostly Apollo keeps an eye on him with his sharp looks and he sees to it that not one letter will be misspelled, *s*.

So, how will the decision fall? Will Achilles, who is to marry Iphigeneia, Agamemnon's daughter (and already convicted to the block because of her dads bad hunting behavior) be massacred together with his newly wed wife, or will be be acquitted, so that he can live and wage war on the Trojans and bully them off?

I intend to write a real play with this theme in the future and I want it to become really funny! I actually want to proof how human the mythical gods were and how much divinity there is in all of us humans! *s* So if there are people who would like to set up the try out for this play here with me and try some writing along with it, feel free to react here or to write a message to me, Menerva Caesar.
