For this topic are to play out the flooding of the Black Sea and all the effects it had on the people around it. I am not religious at all. I don't believe in the Bible, the Gilgamesh Story, or Sitchin's views. I see the Flooding of the Black Sea as an excellent venue to replay the foundations of religious beliefs as they occurred to the different religions. I don't expect anybody to be converted through the roleplaying, I expect everybody has at this stage of life, decided on their beliefs. But just as the many different societies on the lake came up with just as many different explanations for the flood, we need to accept that in actuality, these many, many explanations would have existed at the time. I don't intend to say one was more correct than the others. The simple fact had to be that there were countless explanations for what was happening during the flood, some with more following than the others, some with more logic than the others, and some with more political backing than the others. The more explanations I can get put forward in this board, the better.....because that's how it would have been. If somebody wants to put forward a religion that believed the flood was caused by a monster fish which drifted out of the Danube into the lake, I'll accept it. The more explanations the better. I expect each town during the inundation had meetings of the elders/scholars/powerful to pose all the ideas they could in order to consider them all. Those who clung to unpopular beliefs were, by definition, heretics. If I take a role in any of these religious explanations, it will be purely RP for me. Nobody should think I'm actually being converted, I'm just writing a part. Since I have no religious beliefs, I'll probably post more in the topics/parts of the lake which aren't intended to post religious ideas. But I certainly wouldn't mind playing a part to get one of the religious ones going.
