I've been told already that Jot is looking into Kagi or other alternatives to paypal, and I'm certain that in time this issue will be taken care of. I'm not kvetchin that no one is paying attention to my pleas for us 'cross the pond subscribers.

However, with all the bug chasing and many new changes for this site, I am just posting this as a reminder so that it doesn't get forgotten a bit in the midst of things.

See, right now Paypal is under a huge amount of scrutiny for poor business and security practices, this is a rather big deal. Folks do not feel safe with them holding their credit card info (rightly so may I add), and that could cause alot of patronages here to languish to dust. The Orient, new Neighborhoods and Regions, better group navigation and editing, and most of all the springfest-events planned in the hopes that it will increase funds into this site and keep it standing. All this increased activity will be pointless if it doesn't cause new subscriptions, right?

Just go to google, and type in the words news and paypal. 1,830,000 articles came up, not sure how many were defaming or reporting on how cruddy paypal is, but i bet it was more than half. Some of the titles were 'paypal charged with violating the patriot act'. um wow.

I've offered an alternative earlier in this thread, Kagi. I've used them to purchase online stuff before and have never had a problem with it. I'm not sure if it can simply be used as an 'alternative', as in not getting rid of the paypal account but including a Kagi one as well or not but it's worth looking into.
