I have recently arrived in town and have decided to stay. My studies are wide and work is always pressing so it is nice to have a place to wonder and to meet people with a desire to grow a city and possibly a generation or more. There is definitly a reason behind my avatar--- Pericles. I just hope my research holds up.

Meanwhile I was intrigued by the writing contest and have been lost... very lost in the maze you call Athens but it seems some people are giving me a push in the right direction so I can wonder a little closer to the range. Yesterday my friends went to a gambling house... what a confusing waste of time however intriguing... One of the friends I went with is blind. I tried to close my eyes in this noisy place and could not even begin to understand what she must be going through. Here, in Athens, I am not blind... but the black backgorund, which gives ambiance and the small letters are making me squint and restricts my time on the site. I wonder if Athens should take on a nice Grey marble background and letters in carved stone or some such dark letter on light background... after all it was hard enough to invent the letters but they are usless unless we can read and understand them... and in the highest form share poetry which cuts through the heart and touches the soul...

So I hope I can still make the deadline and participate in the latest festival of poems.
