    Gwyn ap Nudd

I lie there cold and still, flat on my back in a deep trance that has caused my body to tremble in my sleep. A bloody battle field I watched surrounded by screaming barbarous faces each with a different tormenting expression that seemed as if it were glued there by God himself. Terror riffed in each one of the sorry soldiers as they watched their companions get decapitated and impaled. Blood covered the battlefield and the smell of sweet souls called to my name. Some screamed and got away by the graces of an equal power while others were drug down into my dark underworld to serve a meaningless purpose that I would have control of. Eventually the light hit my eyelids and blinded me. I felt the muscles of my eyelids rebelling against my every effort to keep them closed. There was a coolness on my face and I sat up with a force of suddenness. "Damn the morning light" I blurted out in frustration.

Lately I have only been able to dream of such plentitudes of lost souls for mortals seem to be living longer these days. The dream was all to pleasant so I called to my goblin servant Merrick, "go out and find an opportunity to gather some more useless lost souls."

He replied "but where my lord".

"I care not where you go little one, just find me some souls" I demanded!

He returned hours later and to my surprise on his quickness reported " I have found some lost travelers in the depths of Tanglewood and I heard talk from king Valerin of a battle with King Arthur. Shall I go master” he grinned maniacally.

A devilish smirk crept across my face “no my little goblin, this is too great of an opportunity for me to miss. Prepare my horse for I shall oversee this battle and gather these souls myself” I commanded as I pulled the hood over my head “we will ride tonight.”
