My name is Saissa Chilon. I am from the city of Tisfun (Ctesiphon) in the Sassanian Empire. My father was a Greek from Alexandria, and my mother, Nakissa, is a musician. Her family is of the Sassanian nobility. My father died when I was 10 years old, and I am presently living in Alexandria in the Greek quarter conducting some business for my uncle.

I was born in 220 CE in the old city of Estakhr in Pars where the new Sassanid Dynasty comes from. In 224 CE King Artishir moved his capital north, to the city of Tisfun on the Tigris river. Most of the nobility moved there as well. So I have called Tisfun my home since I was 4 years old. In this year of 238 CE, I am now 18 years old. My mother is in no hurry to have me married off. In fact, I am in no hurry to be married either.

One of my uncle's business acquaintences is Jugurtha, who is in the employ of a Roman named Marcus Quintilius Portuensi Maximus. I am pleased to announce that Marcus Quintilius Portuensi Maximus has seen fit to accept me as his client and I will do all that I can to bring Honour to him and his name. My Greek name is Saissa Chilon but in Rome I will be known as Quintilia Saissa Chilonis
