I used to love Hong Kong, still do but it's not the same as when it was British. Singapore, however, is now my favorite city state in the entire region. I was recently there and just had a blast. This can be a very expensive place to visit, but you can still have a great time hanging out with the locals and enjoying all the sights. My friends and I would often catch the train (they have the best train system I've ever seen) and head to one of the big open air food stalls. You can find these next to every high rise apartment complex, some are better than others. One such food stall, near the Singapore expo area had bar-b-qued chicken wings that were so damn good. We eat them after squeezing a ittle fresh calamansi lime juice on them. Coupled with a few large bottles of ice cold Tiger beer and your in heaven. The people are friendly and very proud of their country. I strongly recomend a visit.
