I've been struggling with switching between writing user manuals and procedures to writing Web pages in more of a feature article style. The subtle difference is in the voice: in user manuals, opinions are not expressed. Simple stated facts -- do this, and this happens because of x, y, z. Feature articles provide facts along with conclusions, sometimes opinions.

Have you had an experience where you had to suddenly switch how you were writing? If so, what did you do to cope with the situation? Was it an easy or hard process?
