    Sexuality had nothing to do with it. It was more about the nature of good and evil and the separation from God the source of all good.

    The common folk of the middle ages knew nothing of the philosopy of Augustine. They got what little they knew from the local parrish priests and ideas from scripture enacted in the mystery plays. Remember most people of ancient times were illiterate.

    Perhaps Augutine was a mysoginist? Perhaps he was and is very much misunderstood.
