Historical tidbits timely to the storyline's setting in posts can bring a setting to life for a reader. For example, if you are writing about someone who lived in Bibracte, the oppidum of the Aedui at the time of Caesar's march through Gaul, would they have wine, beer, or mead as a beverage? What did the geography look like in the site? There are maps and pictures online of the site that can provide an idea of what an area looked like centuries past.
Other considerations might include building materials and structures appropriate for the time period, food, horses types... anything that impacted the physical objects used in daily life.
These small tidbits can help get you into the mindset of a character and the point of view appropriate to the character's period.
