It seemed like it was past time that someone finally inaugurated this thread, so I’ve decided to at least put up links to a couple of Byzantine bibliographies on-line at Amazon.com. The first, Best Books About Byzantium, is a general reading list of 25 items that begins with surveys covering the entire course of Byzantine history, and then proceeds chronologically with primary ansd secondary sources dealing with particular eras. The second bibliography, Women of Byzantium, consists of 15 items dealing with Byzantine women’s history.
