Phase I Patlachique (+/- 100 B.C.) A city from about 4 square
kilometers. The house were, with a few exceptions, on ground floor
and they had, just like Roman villa's a patio as a central point
from which different rooms could be visited. These rooms didn't
have windows on the outside, so the light came from the patio
and the inhabitants had all privacy in their homes. During this
period Teotihuacan had about ,000 inhabitants.
Phase II Tzacualli or Teotihuacán I (100-150 A.D.) the
city grew to about 17 square kilometers, it's estimated that the
city had about 30,000 inhabitants. It's very probably that during
this period, construcctions began of the Temples of the Sun, the
Temple of the Moon and the Temple of Quetzalcoátl. It's
assumed that the Avenue of the Dead and the Eastern Avenue already
existed.
Phase III Miccaotli or Teotihuacán II (150-200 A.D.).
The city was in it's heydays and grew to about 22,5 square kilometers
and a population of about 45,000 inhabitants. In this period the
construction of the Western Avenue began.
Phase IV Tlamimilolpa or Teotihuacán IIA (250-450 A.D.)
Probably in this period contacts started with the Maya civilisation
and first contacts with the city of Veracruz. The city became
smaller, but the population grew to about 65,000 inhabitants)
Phase V Xolalpan or Teotihuacán III and IIIA (450-650
B.C)
Phase VI Metepec or Teotihuacán IV (650-750) a period
of depopulation
Phase V Oxtotícpac (750-800) depopulation continues
