The Sigillaria, or feast of images, was held during the last few days of the Saturnalia. Its name refers to the small objects of pottery that were stamped in relief with figures or with ornamentation. Items such as dolls, masks, or figurines might be given away as presents or offered to Saturn as propitiation. The name also refers to the market in Rome where the little images were sold. This is the sixth day of the Saturnalia. If you haven't purchased anything for the children in the family, you have one more day before the Saturnalia draws to a close.
