Seems that Baz Luhrmann has (probably) agreed to film an epic on Alexander the Great based on the trilogy of books by Valerio Manfredi. Looks like there is going to be a glutch of Alexander films as two other projects are being considered with messers Oliver Stone and Martin Scorsese interested in filming his life.
