The Jewish people use a combined solar/lunar calendar. A non-leap year has either 353 354 or 355 days in it. An ordinary year has 12 months and a leap year has 13 months with every month starting on or nearest the new moon.
The months are:
Tishri
Heshban
Kislev
Tevet
Shevat
Adar I
Adar II
Nisan
Iyar
Sivan
Tammuz
Av
Elul
The month Adar I is only present in leap years. In non-leap years Adar II is simply called "Adar."
