i do not recall having a neighbourhood assigned to me when i chose my occupation, but i do remember that in addeition to the occupation descriptions was a description of what the surnames meant. i'd love to see this info made available asagin as it was important in building "family" ties. beack to neighbourhoods...there was the athens "deme" project, which, to my understanding was mor ethe effort of very active athenians and not an official AS project.

i also think that the visitor logs at the homesites and the chatroom were very big draws. i have spoken with numerous, and i do mean NUMEROUS AS members and patrons who state flat out that they are not back with us here because there is not a usable chat option.

yes, the neighbourhood project is an excellent idea, but equally important is not to go charging off adding more stuff when the stuff we already have has not been perfected for use.
