The Sapa Inca has graciously allowed the visitors to travel along the new Royal road to his Imperial estate at Machu Picchu.
We advise that unfit or infirm tourists do not participate in this tour, as it will be onerous and rises to such heights that the air is thin. The expedition will be completed on foot (horses have not yet been introduced to this part of the world, and you don't ride llama). Porters will carry injured or exhausted participants in emergencies only. The group will stay overnight at tambos along the route, where food and shelter will be available. There will be a supply of coca leaves to chew or brew as a mate to help against exhaustion and altitude sickness.
As the ultimate accolade, the Sapa Inca will grant audience to those guests who complete the trail.
Any questions?
