Depression can lead to suicide. People do not die from depression, but it is the cause of suicide. Most of us experience some form of deppression duriing our lifetime.
It is now common to treat this illness medicaly.
At one time it was dealt with spiritualy. Prayer and meditation
was and is a way of copeing with it. In raising the vibrations one overcomes personal pain and loss. There are people who lead an entire lifetime without ever the real experience of joy.
In meditation one can envoke joy, beauty, peace love.
One can transcend sorrow, pain, fear, and hate.
Depression is said to be unexpressed anger. There is a theory that cancer victums harbor unexpressed anger. I think this is very true.
Perhaps if one can identify the source of depression, it would be the first step in healing. Many people do not relate to this kind of suffering, and have no idea as to why it is they are so blue, or if indeed there might be any other way to feel.
The problem with the medications is that they all have side effects. Sometimes the side effects cause more suffering than the original illness.
