Cancer is said to be a hopeful illness. A nurse once told me this. The patients tend to be hopeful. Deppression is something else again. It is the loss of all hope.
Keep reflecting on your sad beauty comment, and still do not really get it. In the abstact sense I equait beauty, truth, and goodness. I find nothin sad in any of those qualitys. I see them as a means to transend pain and that is beautiful.
