Nowadays magic means a false art interrelated
with fantasies and elusions of several illnesses and criminal actions. Thus is
the art which produced results irrelevant of any natural cause. Although, the
hermetic doctrine, and several later early-Christianic and medieval ages heresies,
did not agree with the above statement. Magic was the catholic science of the
ancient magicians and especially of the Persians, the Chalgeans and later the
Zoroastrians. Their king by having the knowledge of their practice became the
most powerful being by ruling men and nature. We can see relevant case in the
early Egyptian kingship and the late Roman religious practice by the emperors. As
Paul Zago said, the initiated individual who knows the interrelation between
his existence, the Universe and the power of speech, in addition to the importance
of the four elements’ identity, he feels immensely the need to find a way to communicate
with those powers and that is by praying! A pray is the request by a mortal to
the divine. The prayer, indeed, is the call and request, which can be used as a
way of spiritual seek and or for cursing, by the use of a pray called ara, or to charm,
gohteia. So in magic we have four main
systems, beginning from the lowest importance:
Sudden success
in the earthly elements and the beings moving between them;
The planetary
magic. That system agrees with the existence of a link between the planets and
the earthly being, which lead to the idea of the cosmic power that is ruling.
It has a close relationship with the Astrology.
Magic of
the higher spheres. It is the magic for “great magicians”.
Θeourgia or Divine Magic. It is the magic of
the simple commandment, by Paul Zago, but I can say that is the exercise that
offers the true divine experience with only one request: the personal spiritual
elevation.
