From the shawdows of a back corner of the Red Boar, Harald observed. Occassionally his hand strayed to his pocket, now partially filled with pilched gold coin from the pantry. Harald had hidden most of what he had stolen.
He saw Amalasuntha, and watched her with a feeling of wariness as she had whispered conversations with his kinsman, Kon, the woman Yngvildr and now this other one, Otar. He saw Kon slowly turn and take in every corner of the Red Boar. Harald expected Kon to confront him, but Kon eyes did not stop upon Harald.
Now Harald thought might be a good time to cause more confusion. He approached Kon and talked to him briefly. As others approached Amalasuntha, so did Harald, apparently waiting to have a word with her. "Amalasuntha, may I have more mead, please?" Harald asked ever so politely handing her his cup with one hand and touching her arm in a gentle clasp of gratitude with his other.
Returning to his lookout with a newly filled cup, Harald's hand strayed to his pocket which now had considerably fewer coins in it.
