The Athenians had monthly pagents celebrating the various temples.
They also had sacred mystery cults, Dionysis, Orpheus.
They considered the outer diplays of religion to be cultual, civic entertainment, and for children.
The mysteries were secret, and those who dared to reveal the mysteries openly were subject to death.
This really is why no one really knows all much about the ancient Greek
Religion.
There is a great deal of Christian theology that is Plato,
and the Greeks were philosophers. Even today the old men sit in the tabernas and solve the problems of the world.
Unfortunately it is the one's who create problems who seem to be running the world, and the ones with solutions only talk about them. Power is neither good or bad in and of itself. Power used positively and for constructive purpose would be a great blessing for the human condition.
