    Heading the Inca Gods was VIRACOCHA. This name is a Spanish variation for the Inca word Lord. His servants were the sun, stars, the earth and sea. These were regarded as huacas [local gods more or less animistic.]

    Divination, sacrifices [sometimes human] celebrations, and ceremonies, rituals feasts, and fasts were part of the religion and under the control of the priests.

    The religion controlled by a hierarchy like the government emphasised ritual and organization.
