hey Publius I think your taberna is great. Especially the second scene - lighting is much better. emperor's heads in the back of the taberna are still a bit too unnatural.
Also the beams inside seem to be stone instead of wood... maybe a bit warmer tint would work, and a smoother texture.
The bench in the fornt on the other hand is far too sharp. It doesn´t look worn or used.
Your using plaster on the walls inside really is an improvement to the first scene.

It would be cool if you made a scene with only candle-light-lighting so it would be light only inside, thus throwing a splotch of light on the paving outside, like a warm, welcoming sign, saying: "this is the very place to get your best drinks".
