jojo turned a corner near the baths and looked up at the street sign..."Via Sinistra". Down the block he saw a hanging sign..."Marie Siduri's Taverna." Well, I'll be damn; I had no idea Marie had franchised internationally. I wonder if this place is as good as her Kash Bowl in Ur? jojo mused as he hurried toward the taverna.

He sure wished Zig were with him, not just because he was worried about Zig's whereabouts but also because it was Zig who had introduced him to that potent libation he referred to as a "silver bullet"...whatever a bullet was...hmmm, maybe he meant "silver arrow".

jojo pushed open the swinging doors of the taverna and stood stunned in the doorway. Why it was just like deja vu all over again! The interior looked just like the Kash Bar...there was even a midget hanging by his collar on a wall peg. Although jojo's physical appearance, his long black hair and beard, made him rather conspicuos, the clientle didn't give him a second glance...apparently they were inured to weird appearing customers. jojo took a table near the rear of the room and was soon approached by a stunning, voluptuos barmaid.

What'll it be, big boy? jojo hesitated for a moment and then asked, Can you make a martini? The barmaid looked at him bewildered, that sounds like a Gaulish drink, dark hunk, but if you can describe it, we can make it. jojo described it as an alcoholic liquor made by distilling a mash of grain with juniper berries and adding a dash of vermouth. He also explained how he liked it garnished with a pitted olive that has been stuffed with garum or an anchovey and that the whole concoction should be shaken, not stirred.

The barmaid's face lit up, Ah, you mean a silver bullet! No problem, would you like a triple? And, by the way, be careful of that guy at the next table; he's known as Augustus, the Mooch, and he'll sure try to hit you up for a drink.
