Hearing the bellowing at the back door, she walks across the kitchen to open it all the while carrying a large pot, just in case. Especially since she recognized the voice.
Before she could use the pot or fire off another verbal assault, she recognized the figure that Dallas held. Grabbing Dallas by the arm, she pulled him and his baggage into the kitchen and then quickly locked the door behind them.
Motioning him over to the corner, he followed...a bit stunned by her behavior. She grabbed a bowl and filled it with warm stew, cut off a large piece of freshly baked bread and handed it to Dallas. She sat quietly, waiting for him to finish eating and never taking her eyes off the little man.
When he lifted his head from the bowl, she began talking quietly and quickly. The first thing he told her was that she recognized the man. He'd come with the Vandals, she'd seen him with them and he fell out of the group once they were losing. But that was not the first time she'd seen him. His eyes grew larger as she quietly told him the true story.
When she's finished, he looks up resolutely and stares briefly at the now cowering little man he'd found. Smiling ferally, he glances at Amalasuntha, "I think its time we found out HIS story and where he fits into this little scheme."
