It was a great honor for my to read your last message, my dear friend. You know well that your opinion is quite important to me, as I believe in everyone in ancient worlds who has read your posts and hence who discovered your great knowledge on the philosophical issues.
It is true, my friend, that there is only one-way to understand perfectly Aristotle’s Physics. And this way is to be referred at his Metaphysics. Manly because, according to Aristotle matter has a kind of universality, it is the receiver of Form. In his Physics there are the things which can be determined, such as our body, the wood and rock, and these which can not at the same degree like fire, air and water.
It is also important the analysis of Substance from his Metaphysics to be mentioned. Things are matter of growth and little difference there is between this matter and the potential state- which has been analyzed in previous message.
Furthermore, because of the fact that Aristotle mentions this kind of universality that exists in matter, the consequence is that the human beings cannot use their senses in order to learn matter. The ‘primary matter’ can only be a logical concept. His purpose actually is not to prove that matter necessitates Form and the vise versus, but to make a distinction of the different kinds of Form, such as the soul which is the Form of an organic body.
It will be a great deal to discuss with you the Aristotle’ s view on the soul.
Sincerely impatient to hear from you
