    Chemise, gown, and girdle: Links to women's dress in the Anglo-Saxon, Norman, and medieval period.

    In addition to their basic attire, and a cloak fastened on the shoulder by clasps or tied across in front, I've read information that details women bathing in water with rose oil added, their hair being rubbed with pumice for extra shine, and using pomegranate on their cheeks to give colour to the face.
