It was shortly before sunset when he arrived at the House of the Golden Cupids. He brought two of his slaves with him, not wanting to impose in any way upon Fannia. Besides, he needed them to carry the things he wanted to have with him during his visit. He had been in the villa once before, many years ago when it was owned by someone else. He was admitted by the door slave and asked to wait in a small reception room. He was astonished at the changes he saw just in this chamber.
