THE SENATE HOUSE, ROME

The sacred chamber of the Republic was about to descent on to a chaotic condition, he could feel the tension waving above their heads; truth be told, Decimus couldn't not be but amazed at how the Senators avoided the previous year's fist fights during the veto of Murena. Murena, Decimus Brutus recalled, a trouble maker... Or maybe someone worthy of serious consideration?

Decimus Junius sighed when the Junior Consul, the revered Publius Fabianus, initiated the vote on the already too many active legislations. While he was truly proud to see the catholic support of the SC Junium, a legislation that would amend the somewhat strained relations with both the Senate and People of Rome, Decimus Brutus could not but hide with the greatest difficulty his jubilation about the projected passing of Senatus Consultum Livium de Militaris; he had stood up to support the bill outright, a reasonable and good sensed bill to secure the Italian Peninsula from the raging barbarians - he had every reason to be happy about it's recent voting development.

Standing up, ready to leave the procession due to his inability to cast his vote along with the other Senators - Lucius's fault! Curse his eyes! - Decimus Brutus moved towards the exit of the Curia Hostilia; upon reaching it, he couldn't hold his genuine feelings any longer and he released a dark smile. At last, him and his brother Marcus - that weakling Marcus - had a real opening to claim back their rightful place amongst the family. To be Pater Familias; a title so important yet so insignificant in the greater schemes of things - a title rightfully theirs, not his. A title that would be theirs...
