"Senators and people of Rome" he began, sweating in the summer sun.
"I have before me the words of Appius Terentius, Quaestor in Illyricum. As we know he has been highly commended for his duty there by the noble Praetor Catulus. His recent Leges, brought to you the people through myself, shows his interest in your wellbeing and the wellbeing of Rome above all else."

Fictitious unfurled the pale parchment and squinted at the words before him

"I Quaestor Appius Terentius wish I could be there in Rome in this election period. I pray to the G-ds for my safe return and the safe return of your fellow citizens who fight with me for Rome. As you know I have fought for proficient Aediles, Aediles to maintain the Roads properly and for the Tribunes to protect you properly. I wish to show you all, that actions speak louder than any words, that a mans deeds shall echo his success through the years of his life. It is with honour and pride that I hereby stand for election as Plebian Aedile in Rome"

Fictitious re-rolled the scroll and faced the crowd, nodded once and stepped down.
