I don't know if I'm using this site correctly. I'm trying to respond to the post regarding Hu the Mighty -- alleged founder of Druidism.
I hope I'm not violating the terms of this site by picking an argument -- not a fight, mind you, but a peaceful debate. However, as an ametur history buff, I must protest. While there are a couple of bits which sound like real history in here, most of this is psudo-historical nonsense.
The idea that the Celtic and Germanic peoples of Britain came there as Israelites is absurd. The Israelites had a very different history and culture than the Celts who came to dominate Britain in the centuries before the Christian Era. Their language was completely different. Their religion was completely different.
Isn't it true that all this stuff about Hu Gadarn was made up by a forger just a few centuries ago? Yet I keep meeting people who take this stuff seriously. All I can say is, "Why?"
Can I speak as my real self here instead of my newly-created website persona? When I tell people that I might be the only Jew in Saint David's Society of Pittsburgh (a Welsh-American club), I often meet some person who will say, "Did you know that the Welsh are a lost tribe of Israel?"
I'm always tempted to respond: "Yeah, and did you know that the moon is made of green cheese, too?" I have all sorts of ancestors, but I don't confuse the Semitic ones with the Celtic (and other Indo-European) ones.
