The Republic Reborn
The Gracchi, Champions of the Plebs, lie dead. Marius, Sulla, the great names of known history shall never come to prominence here. Will you take their role in history?

As there was no male heir to the Estate of Uncle Claudius, the property was divided evenly between Thea and Dia. However as both women and their families already had property, they would most likely sell the estate. Germaniae thought this the best opportunity to add to her wealth.

“If you will allow me,” Germaniae said to her cousins. “And if your husbands will allow, I would like to purchase the estate in full for 50,000 sitri.”

The two women consulted with their husbands for some time before returning to Germaniae with the answers.

“The estate is worth far more,” Dia said. “But if you agree to relinquish all slaves to be divided between our families, then the offer is acceptable.”

“We don’t need any more slaves,” Thea said. “But as father had many highly skilled slaves, they will be worth a lot to us and we can keep them or sell them at our whim.”

Germaniae knew she would have some trouble keeping up the estate without slaves so she offered one last deal. “I have some money left, 16,000 sitiri. Leave to me one slave worth that much and I will be content.”

“You will have no money left for the year.” Thea said.

“That is all right,” Germaniae replied. “I will do fine.” She was not about to tell them that she just turn around and resell the estate if needed, but then the price would surely go up and she would be at a loss.

“It is done then,” Dia said. “Our husbands will come to you on the morrow and make the transactions.”

Germaniae smiled. “I will look forward to their arrival.” She looked back at Romulus who was waiting patiently. “Come Romulus, time to go home.”
