That's a great nomination, Senex, and gives me a chance to clarify the rule here. Mauricius wanted to know if you can nominate, as you did, a district of a city, but not the whole city itself (as you nominated, in Syria, Antioch's 'hood of Seleucia Pieria, and not the whole city of Antioch).
The answer is, yes you CAN nominate a single district in a city or 'hood as a "stand alone entry." However, if the judges see one well-developed district in a city, and then get a nomination for another place where there are FIVE districts, say, all well developed, obviously the larger, more complex one may weigh more heavily in their choices! Since AW has some cities - as with Antioch, or Rome, or Athens - which are gigantic and historically comprise many districts, we are allowing some flexibility in the nominations rule.
So, you can nominate a district of a city, but it may have slightly less weight than an equally well-done city of many districts - but it will all depend on how well done! I hope that's clearer than mud.
I will try to go clarify the nominations rules to make that clearer. Anyway, Senex, I had not even SEEN you nomination, so half of the fun of the competition, for me, will be realizing how many neat 'hoods are out there I haven't found yet ;)
