Ferrum indicum is iron imported from the Indus and is reputed to be the best available. It is shipped to Rome, usually via Alexandria, and is used by the army in weaponry and armour.
Ferrum indicum is also used in the fabrication of domestic utensils such as hammers, prongs, needles and knives.
