 medieval schizophrenia schizophrenia is a complex disorder that enfected 3 percent of the population in 1350ad for some strange reason schizophrenics survived better than normal peasants becouse they stayed to them selfs keeping away from the plague in the middle ages only treatment for this illness was saint johns wart and even it did not do a very good job the mentaly ill of the middle ages mostly worked as jesters and actors but a few did quit well king john of england was bipolar,i also have bipolar but due to modern med's it is under control most likely in the middle ages i would have been a court jester and wild as could be without modern meds.
