I had never heard of this rather spooky place before!
The photo you linked to is especially haunting. Here's a comment I left there:
"Brrr! Despite the lamps and warm brown tones of the stone, this place gives me the shivers. The dead-end tunnel or archway reminds me of the walled up tomb of the living rival in Poe's story, "The Cask of Amontillado." It also reminds me of the tombs of the Etruscans, with their false door to the Underworld painted on the wall. The door, as I recall, to the Land of No Return."
