Eurekalert has the article titled Vikings did not dress the way we thought on the development of the Swedish Viking fashion, especially with the advent of Chrisitanity. The article is based on a research on textile finds in the Lake Mählaren Valley, that includes the regions of Stockholm and Uppsala. First, the Vikings clothing style was influenced by Oriental styles, but ca 900 AD it was influenced by Christian fashions, that originated from Western Europe and Byzants. Photos are published.
