Coastal erosion and flooding from rising temperatures worldwide may mean the end of the Giant's Causeway. Experts are predicting that if storms worsen along the northern Irish coast, most of the basalt columns that make up this World Heritage Site will be washed away by 2050. A report by Queens University and the University of Ulster warns that the causeway will be completely submerged during the winter by the end of this century.
