Wow...my memory is really fading I know it didn't feel like 2 weeks :)
And I know what you're saying it was explained to me then when I brought it up then. Regardless...I fail to see why GF must have the participation all at once. Wasn't that a concern this last time around? Hell, it was pulling teeth in Celtia to get ideas going for GF as everybody was in Samhain mode already.
I do want to hear "because Jot says we have to have GF either."
This is such a mess anyway. In one place we say that which ever scribles will be in power, via a yearly/rotational vote of the people for their "advertised" event, will have our holiday where other worlds cannot hold a festival that interferes, however we can still hold our other 'little,' non-advertised event as long as it doesn't run into an already saved-time-slot one. How much time we talking? Not sure I've seen many collide, but then again I go where I go and drift where I drift. So it's quite possible I'm not noticing the potential collisions.
Is it just me or is that a little paradoxical? It's going to show up in the DI any way, shape or form...most complaints seem to rise from the party posts. Saturnalia was pulled off quite nicely with their party, wasn't it? I didn't read much of it though.
Granted here in Celtia we tend to shift the dates to hit a weekend, but we try to stay close to the 'actual' dates.
Is it really rude to hold your holiday or not hold your holiday because someone has the big time slot? I can hear Cornie's Chainsaw revving at that question...I'm just saying that I carry on doing whatever I'm doing regardless of what's going on site wide.
Holidays overlap *shrugs*
