Holding GF and Samhain together is a good idea, which is why we usually do "smush" the two festivals together in Celtia.

The reason they were two different events last year is because Goldfest was scheduled two weeks before Samhain, which falls on November 1.

GF is usually held later in the month and the Celts opt for the last day and carry the celebrations into Samhain.

If the majority of Celts vote to hold Samhain during GF, regardless of the date, then that's fine, but it's up to the majority to decide...so yeah, you do have the power to help make the decision.
