The contest is a good idea, if for no other reason than to get something done that has been in limbo for months.
It may just be me, but I think the entire "The Roman World" page is ossified. Supposedly there are 88 patrons of Rome, but I have only ever seen around 12 names rotate through this section. The "news" barely changes but twice a year. The "About Rome" section doesn't seem to have been updated in ages (and not all the links work or lead to current information). I don't think any of this gives a good impression or helps increase membership.
Now before someone writes back that we live in the best of all possible worlds, I do think there is a lot to see and do at AW Rome - and much of it is undiscovered by many. But if the Rome page is our showcase, it might make a little sense to keep that page updated and dynamic.
