sometime between august and sept of 43 bc I believe... and most likely had nothing to do with any peace keeping between the two consuls. That was where Octavia came in later on.
I've read two seperate fictional accounts that this meeting was coordinated by Antony's and Octavian's mothers (both were novel biographies of cleopatra and both were a little trashy and overly-romantic) it was interesting to see the show's version as slightly similar. A little spooky too, watching them embrace, knowing what lies ahead.
Was Octavia's life so dull and boring that the show had to spice it up with her attending orgies and smoking hemp with a naughty little merchant's daughter? With all that is happening historically at this point- Octavia's little adventures are wasting valuable time... but I do like Jocasta, she's a stitch.
Both actors that played Octavian did excellent!!! (the performances in this series is some of the best- and most under rated- acting I've ever seen) Simon Woods took the character in a whole new direction and since the audience hasn't seen Octavian since he left the city, it gave the actor a little more flexibility in his portrayal.
Ending was great- I was shouting and and throwing fists in the air. Couldn't wait for the next episode.
