I have increased visibility from 120 meters out to 1,200 meters and what this means is that you can now fly up into the air and instead of seeing for only a very short distance you can now see for all pratical purposes out to nearly infinity. You can see all of the rivers and mountains and out into the ocean. However, I will keep visibility of objects limited to 200 meters maximum. It just simply gets too hard to move a slower computer with more than that to download. Visitors will have to play with the amount of visibility they are comfortable with. I personally keep mine on float. That way my computer can pick what it is ok with. The more objects the less visibilty, ect.

I have been interested in the port city of Ostia and have decided to incorporate some of it into VR Rome. It will be alongside the Tiber River, just to the west of Tiber Island.
The new Ostia brick is working very well and I believe that will be a very eye pleasing part of VR Rome.

New avatars coming...At the present I have 6 Roman avatars for visitors to use. (There are about 200 other avatars in the list, but they are for other worlds) I will be adding a minimum of 10 new avatars and up to 20. Slaves..men and women, citizens...men and women, soldiers and gladiators, also one or two avatars mounted on horses. I will also be adding a chariot mover so visitors can ride around on a chariot or race around the Circus Maximus.

I have added a new road pattern that will allow grass to be seen between the blocks, but am not completely sold on it yet. I personally believe that very little grass would have grown on the busy roadways of Rome. Probably about as much as on one of our superhighways of today.

Regarding the music playing. I have a song list of about 3,000 songs and they are a mix of easy listening, to country, to rock.

I have been playing with the new Ostia objects and will start construction today. If anyone wishes to stop by and check on the progress they can get the download from my page. If you come in I will be happy to talk you through how to set it up for maximum viewing pleasure. (It really isnt difficult.)

I have put the Egyptian area on hold for the present, but do have the correct textures and objects in the wings to create a temple complex. Probably something with lots of underground passageways and smoky torches. The new zones will make that a snap.

I have also been thinking of a 1300's to 1500s area with knights, castles, Inns and the like. I have some absolutely beautiful castles I would love to use.

Thats about it for right now, but I am constantly adding new objects, textures and avatars, so check in now and then and see what is going on.
