The hideout behind the Jokhang
In a backstreet behind the Jokhang Temple is a small hideout. One woman lives there quietly, observing the coming and goings of pilgrims.
(Under construction) The hideout is a narrow house, squeezed in between two other traditional buildings of the type you see all over Lhasa. Itīs doors and windows are painted in bright colors. Some hens are strutting around the small courtyard and thereīs a pile of vegetables heaped on a wooden table just outside the door. If you look up, you see some laundry hanging below a window. From the garments you can tell that itīs a humble person who is living here. No frills or extravaganzas adorn the chuba dresses which are hanging there. But shhh.... the door opens....
