Dwr y adar

In the valley of the Esk the waters rise from time to time and you have to get the stock up onto the downs and leave the meadow to the herons and swans.

I lived beside the Esk for a few years after I first left home, and used to like looking out over the valley floor especially when the flood waters had brought the birds in. Now I live up by the Bald Hill looking away towards the Severn. That floods too but it's not close enough for me to see from home.
