Welcome to the High Street, Winchester! From here you can get to everywhere else in Winchester (admittedly, this is just like everywhere else in Winchester).

Though under construction now, very soon you will be able to look around and see the famous Butter Cross, and the statue of King Alfred (which won't actually be built until 1901). There is also the road northeast toward London, the south road leading to the great port of Hamwic (modern Southampton), west to Athelney, and north into Mercia.
