The Main Settlement of Akhet-Aten is where the bulk of the political machine lived during the Amarna period as well as normal townsfolk who chose to throw their lot in with this new city.
 Wanted: bold townspeople desiring to be close to the Aten. See Pharaoh! Weave linens for the princesses! Touch Nefertiti's gilded hem! When Akhet-Aten was designated as the capital city by Akhenaten during his reign, he turned the Egyptian world upside down. While many turned their faces from this new capital city, some saw a chance to carve out a new future with the forward-thinking Pharaoh. In the main settlement is where the bulk of these enterprising countrymen went. Here you are needed, no matter what your trade may be. Carpenters, craftsmen and women, weavers, musicians, sculptors, artisans of all types and yes, even politicians and their families. Welcome to the Akhet-Aten main settlement!
