Corinth's District of
Lechaion Road
Archon:
Position is currently vacant
Welcome!
This is the Lechaion Way, home of merchants, seamen, traders and artisans. Walking down this broad marble avenue, you can view the Acrocorinth, the temple of Aphrodite, smell the ocean wind from the Corinthian Gulf, even hear the sailors singing from the port. What a place to live!
The Lechaion Road originates at the the seaport of Lechaion on the Gulf of Corinth and enters Corinth from the north. It widens to more than twenty feet, with walks on either side and leads right into the Corinthian Agora, the civic center and marketplace. On one end of the road, at the coastal town of Lechaion, you can find our ship sheds and the sanctuaries of Poseidon and Aphrodite. On the other end, here in Corinth, the road is lined with sidewalks, places of worship, administrative buildings, arcades and shops. Enjoy your stay! Sources
